A Stunning Desert Wedding Workshop at Alkamar Desert Camp

Photographing Jane and Matthew at a workshop in the Agafay Desert was an experience like no other. Alkamar Desert Camp provided the perfect setting; vast, golden landscapes stretching as far as the eye could see. There was a sense of tranquillity you just don’t get anywhere else.

The Agafay Desert, located just outside Marrakech, is often referred to as a ‘stone desert’ due to its rocky terrain rather than rolling sand dunes. Once an ancient seabed, this rugged expanse has a history steeped in Berber culture and is now a popular destination for those seeking adventure and breathtaking scenery. Its ever-changing light and dramatic landscapes make it an incredible location for photography, especially for couples looking for something unique and unforgettable.

One of the highlights of the session was capturing Jane and Matthew as they rode camels through the desert. The contrast between the earthy tones of the sand and the deep blue sky made for some truly breathtaking images. Every direction offered a new and vibrant backdrop, and the shifting light throughout the day gave us endless creative possibilities.

Jane’s dress was nothing short of perfect for a desert wedding. Flowing and elegant, it moved beautifully in the breeze, adding an effortless romance to the shots. Against the backdrop of the rugged terrain, the softness of her gown stood out even more, making for some truly striking images.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we gathered for an outdoor meal under the stars. The warm glow of lanterns, the quiet hum of the desert, and the incredible food made it the perfect way to end the day. There’s something so special about celebrating in such a raw and beautiful environment, it felt completely surreal.
