WHO AM I?
Megan, Megs, Megsie, Uncle Megan…
…I’ll answer to most variants of my name.
I live in Cheshire with my husband, our son Harry and a little cockapoo called Audrey.
I grew up in South Africa, so my ideal holiday is taking the family on safari. We often drive around for hours trying to spot The Big Five whilst hopefully getting one or two decent photos. It’s a game of patience and you never quite know what’s going to happen next. I think the same can be said about weddings, so I try to make sure I’m prepared for any eventuality. Thankfully, there aren’t usually any charging elephants at a wedding but at least I’ll know what to do if we stumble upon one.
Fun fact, the four ladies at the top of the page are my oldest friends. We all met at school in a little Welsh village called, Caerleon. I still message them first when I have big news.
My big day
As you’re considering whether or not I should photograph your big day, I thought I would tell you about mine.
It wasn’t perfect. Not even close. We were let down by the venue co-ordinator and so many things just went wrong. There were lots of happy moments but the day was somewhat overshadowed by disappointment. Saying that, I was thrilled with the photos and love to look back on them.
Seven years later, we’re happily married and I’ve realised that I planned our “perfect” day based on other people’s expectations. We should have focused more on the things that made us happy.
As your photographer, I will be there to capture all of those tiny moments that make your special day unique to you. Most of them will be even better than you hoped but some of them may not be.
If that is the case, I’ll also be there as a supportive friend who gets it.
I made Kids’ Telly
Before I became a full-time wedding photographer, I was (and sometimes still am) a director at the BBC where I’ve made kid’s telly for almost fifteen years. Making TV for children is pretty special. It’s fun and it’s silly and you can’t take yourself too seriously – especially when working with puppets like Hacker and Dodge.
We spend our days trying to find the humour in things and it’s something I bring into all aspects of my life. I just want to have a nice time and make people laugh.
Working with children has also taught me how to make people feel more comfortable in front of the camera. If posing isn’t your thing, that’s totally fine. I am a storyteller at heart, so my aim is to capture the day exactly as it takes place. This means that you get to focus on having a lovely time and I’ll fade into the background and work my magic.
If you want a fiercely dedicated, friendly and fun photographer who enjoys a good laugh and knows how to politely herd rogue kids, adults and the occasional puppet, I’d be honoured to photograph your special day.
Why Consider Me?
I want to be there
Your wedding isn’t just a number to me, it’s a genuine joy to come along and capture it. I am on board to discuss all the fun stuff, so please do send me photos of your venue, shoes and blooms.
I’ve got your back
I have an eagle eye when it comes to tiny details and appreciate that you want to look your best. So, I’ll do my best to make sure your dress isn’t all bunched up and you don’t have lipstick on your teeth.
I give it my all
On your wedding day, I will work as hard as I can to ensure that I take the best photos possible. I don’t cut corners for the sake of ease. I know just how much they’ll mean to you and I want you to look back on them in decades to come and still love them.
I record Content too
For an additional fee, I can use my many years of telly making experience to film some content for you on my iPhone throughout the day. I’ll deliver the footage within 24 hours so you can pop it on your socials.
