MERRYDALE MANOR // GEMMA & JON
” The energy, enthusiasm & happiness she has is infectious, with the added bonus of being my hype girl on the day!”
Gemma and Jon’s wedding at the breathtaking Merrydale Manor was a true summer spectacle. Set within the peaceful Cheshire countryside, Merrydale Manor is known for its sophisticated charm, pristine grounds and tranquil lake. It was the ideal setting for a day filled with colour, warmth and romance.
The weather could not have been more perfect. Sunshine bathed the estate in golden light, creating the most idyllic atmosphere for their drinks reception in the garden. Guests mingled outdoors, champagne in hand, surrounded by lush greenery and the soft hum of summer breeze.
Gemma had a vibrant vision for her flowers, embracing pastel brights that burst with life and personality. Her bouquet blended soft pinks, lilacs, peaches and buttery yellows in a palette that felt both luxurious and fashion forward. I thought it was especially lovely that the bridesmaids wore different coloured dresses, each with a complimentary bouquet.
We wandered through Merrydale’s ground for portraits, making the most of the weather. Later, the dance floor came alive with energy and we caught some wonderfully fun dancing moments that perfectly captured the spirit of the night.
As twilight arrived, Gemma requested something a little magical. She wanted off camera flash portraits with a touch of drama, so we transformed the ceremony room into our evening set. The results were striking and cinematic, a beautiful contrast to the sunlit softness of the day.
I was joined by my second shooter for this wedding, which allowed us to tell the story from every angle. While I focused on Gemma’s preparations, my second shooter followed Jon and the guests, capturing those candid exchanges that often go unseen.
Huge congratulations to Gemma & Jon, it was a perfect day for a very lovely couple.
